Three Days of Premier International One Metre Racing in the Heart of the Mediterranean

The Malta Model Boat Association (MMBA) is proud to announce the Malta IOM Open National Championship 2027, taking place from Friday 9 April to Sunday 11 April 2027.

The championship is Malta's premier International One Metre (IOM) event and will bring together the country's leading skippers for three days of competitive racing in one of the Mediterranean's most attractive sailing destinations.

Designed to meet international standards, the 2027 edition promises highly competitive racing, and the renowned hospitality for which Malta has become known within the radio sailing community.

International Entries

For the first time, the Malta IOM Open National Championship will be open to a limited number of invited international competitors.

This initiative aims to strengthen international participation while maintaining a competitive fleet size that ensures high-quality racing throughout the championship.

An Ideal Addition to the Foreign IOM Calendar

The Malta IOM Open National Championship has been strategically scheduled for the weekend immediately following the prestigious Rogoznica Cup in Croatia.

This allows international competitors travelling to Europe to participate in two IOM regattas over consecutive weekends, making the journey even more worthwhile while experiencing two unique sailing venues in the Mediterranean region.
